Game 2 would see Crawford (25-6) take on Harleton (28-2). Both pitchers kept the game under control until a catchers interference call in the top of 4 negated a 6-4-3 double play. The runner on second, would later be scored on a RBI single by Nate Moenning. Harleton would answer in the bottom of 4 stringing together 3 hits that resulted in 2 runs.
Not to be left out of the hitting game, Crawford strung together 4 hits in the top of the 5th that scored 3 runs on 1 error by Harleton. Not known for quitting, Harleton’s Josh Ready led off the bottom of the 5th with a single, was advanced to second on a sac bunt and eventually scored on a single by leadoff Joseph Earle. At the end of 5 it was Crawford 4 and Harleton 3.
Harleton held Crawford to 1 base runner on a E5 in the top of the 6th. After a leadoff walk, Braden Murphy would come in to pitch for Crawford. He immediately got the cleanup hitter, Jacob Earle to line out to left, enticed a 4-3 groundout to Pilkington. Cody Fregia would advance to third on wild pitch. He then walked Will Davis and Josh Ready. With bases loaded, Murphy got the critical strikeout, preserving the 4-3 lead.
Crawford would add 3 insurance runs in the top of 7 before shutting down Harleton in the bottom have. After 1 hit, 2 RBIs and a shut down relief appearance, Braden Murphy is our player of the game.
