4A GameGrade Team of the Week
Bushland Falcons – The Falcons had a tremendous Opening Week. They started the season at home on Monday with a 24-1 win over Childress and then swept through Lubbock Estacado, Brownfield, Seminole and Snyder at the Shallowater Railyard Classic. Bushland outscored its opponents 80-5 to improve to a perfect 5-0 through week one.
Runner-Up
Navasota Rattlers – Navasota started its season 4-0 with some pretty impressive wins. The Rattlers earned two hard-fought victories over teams ranked in the THSB 4A Preseason Top 40—No. 11 Madisonville and No. 25 China Spring. Navasota closed out their schedule at the Palestine/Elkhart Tournament with wins over fellow 4A teams Palestine and Lorena.
Honorable Mention
Sweeny Bulldogs – The Bulldogs also got their season started with a clean 4-0 slate. Sweeny kicked off its season at Richmond Foster on Monday and took a 17-8 victory and finished the weekend undefeated at their own Hit & Run Tournament. The Bulldogs notched three consecutive shutouts to close the week over Port Lavaca Calhoun, Bellville and Fulshear.
