3A GameGrade Team of the Week
Malakoff – Going into the season, expectations were at an all-time high for the Tigers. They did not disappoint this week as the preseason #1 went 6-0 including 5-0 in their tournament. 5 of the wins were by 10 run rule.
Runner Up
Boyd- The Yellow Jackets went 4-0 against solely 5A and 6A competition. A very impressive opening weekend for the preseason #10 team with wins over South Hills, Crowley, North Crowley, and Fort Worth Polytechnic.
Honorable Mention
CC London- While a 2-2 record won’t raise any eyebrows, the Pirates faced stiff competition this week and pulled off the upset of the weekend against CC Veterans Memorial, the #2 5A preseason team, beating the Eagles 6-4.
