The Pleasant Grove Hawks have done it again. The Hawks are heading back to Austin for a SIXTH consecutive season after defeating the Melissa Cardinals 8-4 in a decisive game 3 Saturday afternoon. An interesting note is that this will be the EIGHTH straight trip to the state tournament for pitching coach Paul Phillips who went in 2006 & 2007 with Liberty Eylau. The 3A defending state champions will probably be a 3 or 4 seed entering the tournament.

Pleasant Grove’s historical run the past 6 seasons:

2008: State Runner-Up

2009: State Semifinaalist

2010: State Champions (First team state championship for any sports in school history)

2011: State Semifinalists

2012: State Champions

2013: TBD
