5A Game Grade Team of the Week
Rio Grande City – The Rattlers are off to a perfect start to the season after winning six games in three days at the McAllen tournament.
Runner Up:
Aledo – Chad Barry’s squad is off to a 6-0 start. The Bearcats had a 55 to 7 scoring advantage in their opening week.
Honorable Mention:
Magnolia West – The Mustangs picked up where they left off last year with a 4-0 mark in their opening tournament, which included a couple quality wins.
Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial – The preseason number two team in the state looked the part as they coasted to a 5-0 mark in the Border Olympics.
Corpus Christ King – King tied a very talented Laredo Alexander team in the opener before posting a 5-0 record in tournament action.
Mansfield Legacy – Legacy is off to a 5-0 start. Included in that strong start was a win over South Grand Prairie – a top 20 6A squad.
