5A GameGrade Team of the Week

Azle Hornets – The Hornets scored 2 big wins last week by beating district foe Aledo in a 2-game set by scores of 3-0 and 3-2.  Azle finished dead last in District 6-5A in 2017 with a record of 11-16 and 3-11 in district.  Currently, they sit atop the district in a 2-way tie with Eaton at 6-0.

Runner Up

Nederland Bulldogs – The Bulldogs swept district rival Port Neches-Groves in their 2 game set last week by scores of 6-5 and 3-2.  Those two wins mark the difference in the district standings with Nederland at 6-0 and PN-G in a 2-way ties at 4-2.

Honorable Mention

Victoria East Titans – The Titans sit alone at the top of District 27-5A at 6-0 with a one game lead over ranked Richmond Foster.  The hot district start earned the Titans a spot in this week’s Top 40.
