5A Game Grade Team of the Week
Corpus Christi Ray – Ray lived up to their preseason top 10 ranking by going an impressive 6-0 in their opening week of play. This included a 5-0 run to win the Border Olympics.
Runner Up
Magnolia West – Though limited to games due to weather, Magnolia West made the most of what they had with a 3-0 mark. The big win was against private school preseason number 1 Concordia Lutheran.
Honorable Mention
El Paso El Dorado – El Dorado dropped their season opener, but won 6 straight in tournament play.
La Joya Palmview – Palmview is off to a perfect 4-0 start, which included 3 shutouts.
Marshall – The Mavericks are off to a nice 3-1 start, which includes a win over 4A defending state champ Pleasant Grove.
