Tivy’s Steve Rippee Retires after 36 Years

Kerrville Tivy Head Baseball Coach Steve Rippee is retiring after 24 years as the Tivy Head Baseball Coach and 36 years of coaching baseball and football.  He finishes his coaching career with a 460-283-10 record.

Coach Rippee played college baseball at Lubbock Christian University under Coach Larry Hays.  His early coaching career included stints at Lamesa, Atlanta, Mt. Pleasant and Texas High.  While an Assistant Coach at Mt. Pleasant, they won the 3A State Championship in 1978.  In 1983, he moved to Katy Taylor to be Defensive Coordinator there for two years.  Deciding to take a break from coaching, he went into the oil business for 5 years.  It was in 1990 that he accepted the Head Baseball Coach position at Kerrville Tivy.

Coach has no immediate plans in the future but does plan to play more golf, do more hunting and fishing and spend more time with his family in his retirement.
