As a junior, LaRue hit .440 with 15 Doubles, 4 Triples, 2 Home Runs, 29 RBIS, 39 Runs and 18 Stolen Bases. He was named the 25-3A Defensive MVP. He was also selected to the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association 3A All-State Team as a 1st Team Catcher and to the Texas Sports Writers Association 3A All-State Team as an Honorable Mention Catcher.
