In his junior season, Ochoa Acosta hit .441 with 2 Doubles, 1 Triple, 3 Home Runs, 16 RBIs, 13 Runs, 11 SB, a .592 OBP and a .763 SLG. On the mound he was 1-1 with 2 Saves, a 3.61 ERA and 28 Strikeouts in 21.1 innings pitched. He was named the 21-5A Offensive Player of the Year. He missed the first 3 weeks of the season.

As a sophomore, Ochoa Acosta hit .344 with 8 Doubles, 8 Home Runs, 24 RBIs, 13 Runs, a .436 OBP and a .721 SLG. On the mound, he was 4-3 with a 2.53 ERA and 30 Strikeouts in 27.2 innings pitched. He was named the 21-5A Newcomer of the Year.
