High School Career
In his junior season, Russell hit .337 with 6 Doubles, 2 Triples, 3 Home Runs, 23 RBIs, 20 Runs, 14 Stolen Bases, a .421 OBP and a .550 SLG. He was selected to the 16-6A All-District Team as a 1st Team SS.

As a sophomore, Russell hit .303, 3 Doubles, 3 Triples, 14 RBIs, 14 Runs and 9 Stolen Bases. He was selected to the 16-6A All-District Team as an Honorable Mention SS.
