Belton’s Shane Stafford Has Big Night

With a chance to secure the district title with a win over Killeen Shoemaker, Belton Jr OF Shane Stafford left no room for doubt by homering in his first 3 at bats, picking up 10 RBIs in the first two innings.  Stafford got things rolling in the 1st inning with a 3 run shot that gave Belton a 4-0 lead after one.  In the 2nd inning, Stafford hit another 3 run shot and came up to bat again in that same inning with the bases loaded.  He promptly knocked in 4 more runs with a Grand Slam Home Run, giving Belton a 19-0 lead after 2 innings.  Belton went on to win that game 22-5 in 5 innings.  It was home run number 6, 7 and 8 on the year for Stafford.
