In six games at the Best Southwest Varsity Tournament, Torres hit .714 with an .800 OBP to help the Cardinals go 4-2 to start the season. He hit a go-ahead, three-run bomb to lead MacArthur to a 14-11 win over Dallas Sunset.

Runner Up
ReyRey Mendoza – Eagle Pass, Sr, P/OF
12-for-18, 2 2B, 1 3B, 3 HR, 10 RBI, 8 R, 2 BB, 1 K
Mendoza hit .667 in the opening week to help the Eagles notch a 5-1 record, including a 4-1 weekend at the Border Olympics. He capped the tournament by hitting two two-run homeruns (the second was a game winner) in a 5-3 victory over New Braunfels Canyon.

Jared Alvarez-Lopez – Cy Ranch, Sr, C
7-for-17, 1 2B, 5 HR, 9 RBI, 5 R, 1 K
Alvarez-Lopez homered in three of Cy Ranch’s five games at the Spring Branch ISD Tournament and hit two bombs in each game against George Ranch and Houston Memorial.
