Ommar Jackson
Senior, SS
Mansfield, Texas
Mansfield’s Ommar Jackson stood out at the EXOS Select 50 5 Tool Testing event in August. He finished as one of the top 5 athletes at the event. Jackson is a middle infielder for the 6A Mansfield Tigers. MLB Scouts were impressed with his gap to gap switch hitting ability and felt he was definitely a player that had the ability to hit at the next level. Also worthy of note are his 6.71 speed and a nice glove that projects to more of a second baseman. Ommar played a full summer schedule with Texas Stix Black to get ready to make a run at a 2019 District Championship. “If our team chemistry can improve, we have a shot at first in District” stated Ommar. Six starters return to Mansfield from a team that placed 3rd in District 4-6A – 3 pitchers, a catcher, a first baseman and Ommar at shortstop should round out the returning starters. Ommar is currently verbally committed to NCTC and hopefully for a Division 1 offer. His metrics from EXOS this past weekend should help him achieve that goal.
