Game Grade Private School Team of the Week
Lutheran South Academy Pioneers-Went 4-0 in the Pasadena ISD Tournament. Defeated 5A Fort Bend Marshall 21-1, 5A Laredo Martin 12-3, 6A Pasadena Dobie 5-2, and 6A Alief Elsik 5-0.
Runner Up
Grapevine Faith Lions-Swept the Rosehill Tournament. Outscored opponents 78-6, including a 5-0 win over defending Division 2 State Champion Emery. Also noted by an opposing coach that the Lions invited teams to the mound to pray following each contest. Impressive wins, outstanding sportsmanship.
Honorable Mention
Lutheran High North Lions-Hosted a tournament on their campus for the first time in over a decade, and won all three games. The community and visiting fans and created a sense of excitement about Lion baseball. Sportsmanship was at a high level, and volunteer efforts were superb. Lutheran North hopes to keep this one going in the future.
