GameGrade 6A Team of the Week
Kingwood – The Mustangs offense exploded last week, putting up 48 runs en route to three district wins. Kingwood’s defense did its part too, allowing just four runs and earning two shutouts to extend the Mustangs’ winning streak to five games. No. 6 Kingwood is now 13-4-2 on the year and in control of District 22-6A with a 6-0 record.
Runner Up
Pharr-San Juan-Alamo – The PSJA Bears took control of District 30-6A with two big run-rule victories last week. They took down Rowe 13-0 then capped the week with a 13-3 win over then-No. 21 McAllen. PSJA is 5-0 in district play and 15-4-1 on the year and currently riding a 10-game win streak.
Honorable Mention
Round Rock – The Dragons outscored opponents 34-2 to earn three district wins over McNeil and Westwood (sweep) last week. They recorded two one-run victories and a shutout and are now the only team in District 13-6A without a conference loss. No. 12 Round Rock is 13-8 on the year and 4-0 in district.
