Flower Mound Grabs Final Spot in State Tournament

Pearland, Atascocita and Reagan were in.   We all were waiting for the Region 1 representative to complete the 4 elite 5A teams at Round Rock later next week.

Flower Mound secured that final spot by beating Marcus 4-1 earlier today.  They had a 1-0 lead after beating Marcus 11-0 in 5 innings the previous night.

Mitch Andrews shined at the plate going 2-4 and getting the first 2 RBIs of the game.  Kyle Johnston came in to pitch in the 4th inning and gave up no hits while striking out 4 to get the save.  Johnston pitched a 5 inning no-hitter the previous night.  BlJ. Myers got the win going 4.1 innings while giving up only one run.

Sean Wymer was also 2-4 and had an RBI.  Connor Wanhanen was 2-3 and scored twice.
