La Grange is hoping to bring home the fourth state championship in school history Thursday night after defeating Silsbee 8-3 this afternoon. The leopards will be playing for the state title 40 years from the exact day La Grange won their first state championship in baseball. The highlight of this afternoon’s game came in the third inning when CF Kolby Kolek hit an inside the park grand slam to give the Leopards a 5-1 lead. Kolek finished 2-4 with 4 RBI’s and 1 run scored. Senior Trey Supak went the distance on the mound earning his sixth victory of the year, here is his stat line: 7 IP, 4 H, 2 earned runs, 3 BB, 8 K’s, 115 pitches.
La Grange will face Pleasant Grove in the State Championship Thursday at 6:30 PM where they will be the home team.
