Leonel Perez, Sr, RHP/1B, La Joya Palmview

Leonel Perez is a 6’1” 215 lb Senior RHP/1B for the La Joya Palmview Lobos. He has committed to Texas A&M at Corpus Christi.

As a junior at Palmview, Perez hit .489 with 10 HRs, 33 RBIs and 37 Runs. On the mound he was 9-3 with a 1.78 ERA and 123 K’s in 86 innings. Among 6A Players he was 9th in Batting Average, 3rd in Home Runs and 3rd in Strikeouts. He was named the Co-MVP of 30-6A.

He was selected to the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association All-State Team as a 2nd Team Pitcher. He was selected to the Texas Sports Writers Association All-State Team as a 1st Team 3B.

In his sophomore year, Perez hit .364 with 2 HRs. On the mound, he was 7-1 with an 0.92 ERA and 76 Ks in 53 IP. He was named the 30-6A Newcomer of the Year.

He was selected to the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association All-State Team as a 3rd Team 1B.
