Nehomar Ochoa Acosta Jr Named THSB 2023 Hitter of the Year

Galena Park’s OF Nehomar Ochoa Acosta Jr has been named the THSB 2023 Hitter of the Year.

Ochoa Acosta had 50 hits in 83 official at-bats for a .602 batting average. He had a .685 On Base Percentage and a whopping 1.277 SLG. Of those 50 hits, he had 11 doubles, 6 triples and 11 Home Runs. He had 50 RBIs and scored 50 runs and stole 27 bases as well.

Ochoa Acosta won the 5A Triple Crown in 2023 by leading all 5A players in Batting Average (.602), Home Runs (11) and RBIs (50). He also led all 5A players in Runs (55) and Slugging Percentage (1.277).

Ochoa Acosta was named to the THSBCA 5A All-Star Elite Team. He was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 11th Round in this year’s MLB Draft.
