As a junior, Salinas hit .289 with 8 2Bs, 2 3Bs, 3 HRs, 29 Runs and 24 RBIs. He was named to the 30-5A All-District Team as a 2nd Team SS.

As a sophomore, Salinas hit .312 with 8 2Bs, 1 HR, 18 Runs, 22 RBIs and a .418 OBP. He was named to the 30-5A All-District Team as a 2nd Team 3B and to the Corpus Christi Caller All-South Texas Baseball Team as a 2nd Team Infielder.
