As a Junior, Carter hit .375 with 8 2Bs, 2 3Bs, 3 HRs, 46 Runs, 24 RBIs,14 SBs and a .548 OBP. He was named the 9-4A Co-MVP. Carter was selected to the Texas Sports Writers Association 4A All-State Team as a 2nd Team OF. He was named a Preseason Perfect Game Underclass 2nd Team All-American.
As a Sophomore, Carter hit .500 with 7 2Bs, 8 3Bs, 2 HRs, 29 RBIs, 45 Runs and 15 SBs. On the mound, he picked up a win with 26 Ks and an 0.44 ERA. Carter was named the 9-4A Offensive MVP. He was also selected to the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association 4A All-State Team as a 1st Team OF and to the Texas Sports Writers Association 4A All-State Team as a 2nd Team OF.
As a Freshman, Carter hit .364 in 32 Plate Appearances. He scored 10 Runs and had 4 RBIs.
