Pleasant Grove Routs Stephenville 13-0 to reach State Championship

Texarkana Pleasant Grove punched their ticket to the 4A state championship game with a convincing 13-0 win over Region 1 Champion Stephenville. Making their 10th state tournament appearance and 9th since 2008, the Hawks, led by Coach Riley Fincher, scored 4 in the 1st inning and never looked back. JM Long and Brock Bearden led the offensive attack as the two combined 4 hits (2 triples), 7 rbi, 4 runs, and a stolen base. Junior Blake Jennings faced one batter of the minimum as he threw a complete game shutout scattering 2 hits, 2 walks, and struck out 3. JM Long captured the MVP for his performance. The Sophomore shortstop was 2-3 with 2 triples, 4 rbi, and 2 runs. The Hawks advance to the state championship for the 5th time and will play for their 3rd title tomorrow night.
