Prestonwood Christian Shuts Out Central Catholic to Capture TAPPS Division l Title.

Bennett Seal and the Prestonwood Christian Lions shut out Central Catholic in a 5-0 victory to capture the 2022 TAPPS Division I State Championship. Seal pitched the complete game in only 83 pitches, giving up only 3 hits and 2 BB. He was named the Championship THSB Player of the Game.

Will Johnson gave Prestonwood Christian the early lead with a 2 RBI single in the bottom of the first. Louis Bussard followed this up with an RBI single himself and Prestonwood was up 3-0 early. Tate Tramell made it a 4-0 game in the 3rd on a Tate Trammel RBI double. John u[son picked up his 3rd RBI in the 5th, making it a 5-0 game. Johnson was 2-2 in today’s game with 2 Runs Scored and 3 RBIs.

Central Catholic couldn’t get anything going against Seal. They only got one runner to 3rd in the whole game. Seal was also helped out by two double plays.

Prestonwood Christian was ranked #10 in the latest Diamond Pro/THSB Large Private School rankings and Central Catholic was ranked #3. The Lions didn’t give up any runs in their last 4 games, including the two state tournament games.
