Rowlett Pitcher Throws Back-to-Back No Hitters

Sr Brayden Ferrie of the Rowlett Eagles has gotten off to an incredible start this year throwing back-to-back no-hitters in his first 2 games on the mound. The 6’3” 185 RHP threw a 6-inning no-hitter against Plano West on February 21 and followed that up a week later with a 5-inning no-hitter against Dallas Christian on February 28.

In the game against Plano West, Ferrie struck out 7 and gave up one walk in the 4th inning. That runner was caught stealing and Ferrie pitched to the minimum 18 batters for a 6-inning game. In the game against Dallas Christian, Ferrie struck out 5 and did not walk a batter but again was 1 baserunner short of a perfect game when the 2nd batter of the game got on base by error.

Ferrie was the ace on the JV team last year as a Junior but did pitch one inning on the varsity when he went in as a relief pitcher in a playoff against Dallas Jesuit. But he has pitched like a veteran early in the 2019 season.

“Brayden has been able to throw all three of his pitches for strikes,” Rowlett Head Baseball Coach Paul Carmon bragged. “He has had electric stuff, getting ahead of the hitters and allowing him to hit spots. In my 20+ years of coaching, I have never had a kid throw back-to-back no-hitters.”

Brayden has signed to play baseball at Cedar Valley College in Dallas.
