In his junior season, Abeldt was 7-1 with an 0.81 ERA, an 0.871 WHIP and 83 Ks in 51.2 innings. He threw a no-hitter with 13 Ks on March 16. He was named the 5-6A District MVP. Abeldt was also named to the Dallas Morning News All-Area Team as a 2nd Team Pitcher. He was also named to the Texas Sports Writers Association 6A All-State Team as an Honorable Mention Pitcher.
