Sept 11 THSB Player Profile: Mason Ornelas, Sr, RHP/3B, LD Bell

Mason Ornelas is a 5’11’ 195 Sr P/3B for the 6A L.D. Bell Raiders. He has committed to Texas A&M University.

As a junior, Ornelas was 5-4 with a 1.60 ERA and 57 Ks in 70 innings. At the plate he had 4 2Bs, 2 HRs, 12 RBIs and a .373 OBP. He was a 5-6A 1st Team All-District Pitcher. Ornelas was selected to play on the 2018 Rangers Area Code Team. This summer he hit 92 MPH on the mound in a Perfect Game event.

As a sophomore, Ornelas was 2-5 with 2.80 ERA and 43 Ks in 40 innings. He was a 5-6A 2nd Team All-District Pitcher.

In his freshman season, Ornelas hit .250 with 11 RBIs. On the mound, he was 1-5 with a 3.25 ERA and 19 Ks in 32.1 innings. He was a 7-6A 2nd Team All-District 3B.
