High School Baseball

In his junior year, Nixon hit .492 with 15 2Bs, 1 HR, 18 RBIs, 43 Runs, a .552 OBP and a .653 SLG Pct. On the mound, he was 7-2 with a 1.08 ERA and 137 Ks in 71 innings. Nixon lead all 6A players with 61 hits and was 3rd in Strikeouts among all 6A pitchers. He was named the 30-6A Player of the Year and The Monitor’s All-Area Baseball Team Defensive Player of the Year. He was selected to the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association 6A All-State Team as a 2nd Team Pitcher and to the Texas Sports Writers Association 6A All-State Team as an Honorable Mention Pitcher. Nationally, he was selected to the All-USA High School Baseball 3rd Team.

As a sophomore, Nixon hit .441 with 8 2Bs, 5 3Bs, 2 HRs, 31 RBIs, 41 Runs, a .553 OBP and a .658 SLG Pct. On the mound, he was 8-2 with an 0.81 ERA and 104 Ks in 68.2 innings. He was named the 30-6A Player of the Year. Nixon was named to the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association 6A All-State Team as a 3rd Team Pitcher and to the Texas Sports Writers Association 6A All-State Team as an Honorable Mention Pitcher and Shortstop.

As a freshman, Nixon hit .415 with 9 2Bs, 4 3Bs, 2 HRs, 32 RBIs and 23 Runs. On the mound, he was 5-1 with an 0.45 ERA and 41 Ks in 31 innings. He was selected as a 30-6A 1st Team All-District Pitcher and 3B and was The Monitor All-Area Newcomer of the Year.
