In his junior season, Nunez hit .385 with 5 2Bs, 6 3Bs, 1 HR, 28 RBIs, 36 Runs, and a .477 OBP. He was named the 4-6A Offensive Player of the Year.

As a sophomore, Nunez hit .333 with 3 2Bs, 5 3Bs, 1 HR, 14 RBIs, 26 Runs, a .412 OBP and a .517 SLG Pct. He was selected to the 4-6A 1st Team All-District.
