Jared Kelley is a 6’3” 225 RHP/SS for the 2A Refugio Bobcats. He has committed to the University of Texas.
High School Baseball
As a junior, Kelley was 11-0 with an 0.22 ERA, a BAA of 0.059 and 144 Ks in 65 innings. He led all 2A pitchers with 144 Ks, was 2nd in ERA, tied for 3rd with 11 wins. At the plate, he hit .348 with 9 2Bs, 3 HRs, 30 RBIs, 20 Runs, .596 OBP and .863 SLG. Kelley was named the 31-2A Pitcher of the Year. He was also selected to the Corpus Christi Caller All-South Texas Team as a 1st Team Pitcher and named the Victoria Advocate All-Area MVP. He made the Texas Sports Writers Association 2A All-State Team as 1st Team Pitcher. Nationally, Kelley was named to the Baseball America High School Baseball All-American 2nd Team, the All-USA Baseball 2nd Team, the MaxPreps Underclass All-American Baseball Team, and the Max Preps Small School All-American Team as a 1st Team Pitcher.
In his sophomore year, Kelley was 9-2 with an 0.34 ERA, allowing 3 runs all season, a BAA of 0.068 and 153 Ks in 62.1 innings. He was 2nd among all 2A pitchers in strikeouts and 3rd in ERA. At the plate, he hit .371 with 8 2Bs, 17 RBIs and 18 Runs. Kelley was named the 31-2A Defensive Player of the Year and to the Corpus Christi Caller All-South Texas Team as a 1st Team Pitcher. Statewide, he was named to the Texas Sports Writers Association 2A All-State as a 1st Team Pitcher
As a freshman, Kelley was 9-1 with a 1.16 ERA,a BAA of 0.117 and 109 Ks in 60.1 innings. At the plate, he hit .376 with 6 2Bs, 32 RBIs and 18 Runs. He was named the 31-2A Newcomer of the Year and the Victoria Advocate All-Area Newcomer of the Year. Kelley was also named to the Texas Sports Writers Association 2A 3rd Team All-State Pitcher
