Yanluis Ortiz is a 6’0” 210 Catcher for the 6A Southlake Carroll Dragons. He has committed to the University of Miami.

High School Baseball

In his junior season, Ortiz hit .317 with 8 2Bs, 3 3Bs, 2 HRs, 16 RBIs, 19 Runs and a .423 OBP. He was named a 5-6A First Team All-District player. At the State Tournament, Ortiz was named to the 6A All-Tournament team.

As a sophomore, Ortiz hit .293 with 6 2Bs, 1 HR, 19 RBIs and a .434 OBP, struggling most of the district season with a hamstring injury.
