Gavyn Jones is a 6-2 205 LHP/1B for the 15-3A White Oak Roughnecks. He has committed to Texas Tech University.

 

 

 

 

 

 

High School Career

In his junior season, Jones hit .483 with 5 Doubles, 1 Triple, 1 Home Run, 11 RBIs and 12 Runs. Jones was injured part of the year and was unable to pitch during the season. He was named to the 15-3A All-District Team as a 1st Team 1B. He was also named to Texas Sports Writers Association 3A All-State Team as an Honorable Mention 1B.

As a sophomore, Jones was 5-3 with a 1.06 ERA and 68 Strikeouts in 46.1 innings pitched. At the plate, he hit .467 with 18 Doubles, 2 Triples, 2 Home Runs, 32 RBIs, 33 Runs, a .554 OBP and a .728 SLG. He was 3rd in Doubles among all 3A players in Texas. Jones was named the 15-3A MVP. He was also named to the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association 3A All-State Team as a 3rd Team 1B and to the Texas Sports Writers Association 3A All-State Team as an Honorable Mention 1B.
