Spring Branch Memorial Breaks 17-6A Stronghold

Kody Clemens hit 2 HRs, including one Grand Slam, and had 9 RBIs in two games as Spring Branch Memorial swept Cy Falls in a Bi-District Round Matchup, 17-5, 11-6.  The win by the Memorial Mustangs marks the first time that a team from 18-6A has defeated a team from 17-6A in the Bi-District Round since the current 10 schools became 17-6A in 2011.  Since 2011, 17-6A is 19-1 against teams from 18-6A in the Bi-District Round.

Memorial banged out 28 runs on 25 hits in the 2 games.  SS Kody Clemens was 5-8 with 2 HRs and 9 RBIs.  CF Mason Meredith was 5-7 with a HR in each game and had 5 RBIs.  He also scored 4 runs in the 2 games.

Memorial finished as undefeated district champions of 18-6A with a 12-0 district record.  They have won 15 of their last 16 games with a current record of 20-5-1.  The Mustangs advance to the Area Round where they will meet Katy Taylor for a 3 game series.
