THSB Player Profile: Adam Oviedo, Sr, SS, Alvarado

Adam Oviedo is a 6’0” 190 lb. Senior SS for the 4A Alvarado Indians. He has committed to TCU.

As a junior Oviedo hit .534 with 9 2Bs, 4 3Bs, 7 HRs, 28 RBIs and 29 Runs. He was named to the 7-4A All-District Team as a 1st Team SS. He was selected to the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association 4A All-State Team as a 1st Team Shortstop and to the Texas Sports Writers Association All-State Team as a 3rd Team Utility Player.

As a sophomore, Oviedo hit .424 and was named a 1st Team All-District Infielder. As a freshman, he hit .386 and was the District’s Newcomer of the Year.

Oviedo was chosen to play for the Stripes Team in the USA Baseball Tournament of Stars in June.  He was also selected to the 2016 Texas Rangers Area Code Team.
