Sept 7 THSB Player Profile: Blake Mayfield, Sr, RHP/3B, Flower Mound Marcus

Blake Mayfield is a 6’1″ 170 lb Senior RHP/3B for the 6A Flower Mound Marcus Marauders. He has committed to Texas A&M University.

In his junior year Mayfield was 9-3 with a 1.75 ERA and 138 Ks in 83.2 innings. He led all 6A pitchers with the 138 strikeouts. At the plate he hit .270 with 6 2Bs and 12 RBIs. He was named the 5-6A District MVP. He was also selected as a 1st Team Utility Player on the SportsDay High School All-Area Baseball Team. Mayfield was selected to the Texas High School Baseball Coaches’ Association All-State Team as a 1st Team Pitcher and to the Texas Sports Writers Association All-State Team as a 2nd Team Pitcher.

Mayfield was selected to play for the 2018 Rangers Area Code Team. He pitched 3 innings at the Area Code games and did not give up a hit and struck out 3.

As a sophomore Mayfield was 9-3 with a 2.31 ERA and 82 Ks in 6.2 innings. He was selected as the 5-6A Newcomer of the Year.
