Brooks Helmer is a 6’4”, 230 lb RHP/1B for the 6A Rockwall Yellowjackets. He has committed to Baylor University.
In his junior season, Helmer was 11-1 with a 1.49 ERA and 94 Ks in 79.2 innings. At the plate he hit .378 with 12 2Bs, 5 HRs, 16 Runs and 42 RBIs. Helmer finished in the Top 10 among 6A players in RBIs and Wins. He was named the 11-6A MVP.
As a sophomore, Helmer was 6-2 with a 2.27 ERA and 39 Ks in 43 innings. With the bat he hit .282 with 14 2Bs, 2 HRs, 15 Runs and 20 RBIs. He was named a 2nd Team Pitcher on the 11-6A All-District Team.
As a freshman, Helmer was 4-1 with a 2.46 ERA. At the plate, he hit .254 with 6 2Bs.
He was selected to the All Tournament Team at the 2017 WWBA 17U National Championship.
