Jacob Burton is a 6’0”, 175 lb CF/RHP for the 3A New Diana Eagles. He has committed to the University of Arkansas.
In his junior season, Burton hit .382 with 8 2Bs, 5 3Bs, 2 HRs, 22 RBIs, 46 Runs, and 21 SBs. On the mound he was 10-4 with 112 Ks and a 1.39 ERA. He was named the 16-3A Pitcher MVP. He was selected to the TSWA All-State Team as a 3rd Team Pitcher and an Honorable Mention SS.
As a sophomore, Burton hit .358 with 4 2Bs, 16 RBIs, 30 Runs and 22 SBs. On the mound he was 5-3 with 82 K’s in 54.2 innings and a 2.17 ERA. He was named the 17-3A Pitcher MVP. He was selected to the TSWA All-State Team as an Honorable Mention Pitcher.
As a freshman, Burton was named the 17-3A Newcomer of the Year.
