Javan Smitherman is a 5’10”, 165 lb RHP/SS for the 4A Kilgore Bulldogs. He has committed to Dallas Baptist University.
In his junior season, Smitherman was 9-1 with 2 Saves and a 1.33 ERA and 91 Ks in 68.1 innings. At the plate, he hit .307 with 8 2Bs, 2 3Bs and 19 RBIs. He was named the 15-4A MVP. He was named to the TSWA 4A All-State Team as a Honorable Mention Pitcher.
As a freshman for 3A Gladewater Sabine, Smitherman was 3-4 with a 2.93 ERA and 54 Ks in 43 innings. At the plate, he hit .274 with 5 2Bs and 10 Runs. He was named a 1st Team Pitcher on the 17-3A All-District Team.
Smitherman was named to the 2015 and 2017 WWBA National Championship All Tournament Teams.
