This past summer Gil played in the Tournament of Stars games in June and in the Future Star Series in August.

In his sophomore year, Gil hit .364 with 5 2Bs, 2 3Bs, 3 HRs with 31 RBIs and 21 Runs. On the mound he was 6-2 with 69 Ks and a 1.50 ERA. He was named a 1st Team Pitcher on the 5-6A All-District Team.
