In his junior season, Cervantes .368 with a .464. OBP, 9 2Bs, 3 3Bs, 1 HR, 22 Runs and 23 RBIs. On the mound, he was 8-4 with a 1.77 ERA and 51 Ks in 75.1 innings. Cervantes was named a 1st Team Pitcher and a 2nd Team 1B on the 29-6A All-District Team. He was also named the Most Valuable Player on the Laredo Morning Times All-City Baseball Team.

As a sophomore, Cervantes hit .500 with 6 2Bs, 3 3Bs, 2 HRs, 27 RBIs and 29 Runs. On the mound, he was 2-2 with a 2.49 ERA and 35 Ks in 50.2 innings. He was named a 2nd Team 1B and an Honorable Mention Pitcher on the 29-6A All-District Team. He was named the Offensive Player of the Year on the Laredo Morning Times All-City Baseball Team.

As a freshman, Cervantes hit .333 with 7 2Bs, 3 HRs, 16 Runs and 27 RBIs. He was named the 29-6A Newcomer of the Year.

Cervantes has been named to the All-Tournaments Teams at the 2016 WWBA 16U National Championship and the 2017 WWBA 17U National Championship.
