5A Game Grade Team of the Week
CC Veterans Memorial- Opened up the week with a win over 6A Edinburg and then headed to the Border Olympics and won their Pool. This second year school picked up big wins vs 6A Ranked Teams; SA Reagan and Laredo Alexander finishing 9th out of 50 Teams. The Eagles only won 7 total games last year and currently sit at 5-1. Veterans Memorial is coached by Lee Yeager.
Runner Up- Colleyville Heritage-The Panthers went 6-0 at the Grapevine/Baylor Medical Tournament to start the season outscoring opponents 42-8. Colleyville Heritage got wins over 3 Top 40 Teams and made a statement that they are going to be a factor in Region 1.
Hon Mention- Corsicana-The Tigers put on an offensive display this weekend scoring 53 total runs while only giving up 17. Corsicana finished a perfect 5-0 including 2 shutouts.
