In his junior season, Gutierrez was 10-1 with a 1.20 ERA, 106 Strikeouts in 62.2 innings and one No-Hitter. At the plate, he hit .384 with 4 Doubles, 1 Triple, 2 Home Runs, 28 RBIs and a .458 OBP. He was named the 31-6A Pitcher of the Year and the Monitor’s All-Area Co-Pitcher of the Year. He was also named to the Texas Sports Writers Association 6A All-State Team as a 3rd Team Pitcher.

As a sophomore in the shortened 2020 season, Gutierrez was 1-1 with 1.43 ERA and 22 Strikeouts in 14.2 innings. At the plate, he hit .310 with 2 Doubles, 4 RBIs, 6 Runs and a .411 OBP.

In his freshman season, Gutierrez was 5-5 with a 3.27 ERA and 76 Strikeouts in 55.2 innings. He was named to the 30-6A All-District Team as a 1st Team Pitcher.
