Gooch Throws a Gem as Argyle Advances to the State Championship, 5-1

Argyle used consistent pitching and timely hiting to advance to the state finals in their 5-1 win over the Sinton Pirates on Wednesday.  Markwardt (2-4), T. Boyzuick (2-3) and McDonald (3-3) all had multi-hit days at the plate.  Mushinski, B. Boyzuick & Ralph also pitched in with a hit a piece.  Drew Gooch was phenomenal on the mound, going all 7 innings while giving up only 1 unearned run while striking out 6 batters.
