Rhett Maynard is 6’1” 180 lb Senior Shortstop for the 5A Amarillo Golden Sandies. He has committed to Texas Christian University.

As a Junior, Maynard hit .360 with 7 2Bs, 3 3Bs, 6 HRs, 37 RBIs, 39 Runs, 10 SBs, a .435 OBP and a .583 SLG. He was named a 1st Team SS on the 3-5A All-District Team. He was also named to the Amarillo Globe News Baseball Super Team. Maynard was selected to the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association 5A All-State Team as a 3rd Team SS and to the Texas Sports Writers Association 5A All-State Team as a Honorable Mention SS.

As a Sophomore, Maynard hit .420 with 11 2Bs, 7 3Bs, 38 RBIs, 43 Runs, 13 SBs, a .470 OBP and a .601 SLG. He was named the 3-5A Newcomer of the Year and the Amarillo Globe News Super Team Newcomer of the Year. Maynard was also selected to the Texas Sports Writers Association 5A All-State Team as a Honorable Mention 3B.
