THSB All-Decade Team: Grayson Rodriguez, RHP/SS, Central Heights, 2018

Grayson Rodriguez was a RHP/SS who Played for the 3A Central Heights Blue Devils 2015-2018. In his senior season, Rodriguez was 11-0 with a 0.19 ERA and 156 Ks in 76 innings. At the plate, he batted .479 with 9 Home Runs, 10 Doubles, 49 RBIs and 45 Runs. He was named a 3A 1st Team All-State player for the 3rd year in a row and was named the 3A Texas Player of the Year for the 2nd year in a row.

As a junior, Rodriguez was 14-1 with a 0.38 ERA and 178 K’s. At the plate, he hit .511 with 8 Doubles, 11 Home Runs, 44 Runs and 53 RBIs. He was the 22-3A MVP and the 3A Texas Player of the Year.

Rodriguez signed a National Letter of Intent with Texas A&M University. He was selected with the 11th pick of the 2018 MLB Draft by the Baltimore Orioles. On June 12, 2018, he signed with the Orioles for a $4.3 million signing bonus.

Rodriguez made his professional debut with the GCR Orioles in 2018 going 0-2 with a 1.40 ERA and 20 K’s in 19.1 innings in 8 starts. Rodriguez played for the A League Delmarva Shorebirds in 2019 and was 10-4 with a 2.68 ERA and 129 Ks in 94 innings. He was named a Southern League All-Star and was selected to play in the Futures Game.
