In his junior season, Andrus hit .378 with 10 2Bs, 9 3Bs, 4 HRs, 40 RBIs, 47 Runs and 14 SBs. He finished in the Top 5 among all 5A players in Runs and Triples. On the mound, he was 4-4, with a 2.94 ERA and 41 Ks in 57 innings. Andrus was named a 1st Team Outfielder on the 3-5A All-District Team. He was selected to the THSBCA 5A All-State Team as a 1st Team Outfielder and to the TSWA 5A All-State Team as a 1st Team Outfielder.

As a sophomore, Andrus hit .364 with 12 2Bs, 3 3Bs, 34 RBIs, 32 Runs and 15 SBs. On the mound, he was 10-3 with a 2.62 ERA and 53 Ks in 66.2 innings. Andrus was named the 2-6A Newcomer of the Year. He was selected to the TSWA 6A All-State Team as a 2nd Team Pitcher.

Andrus was named to the All Tournament Team at the 2016 WWBA 16U National Championship.
