3A GAME GRADE TEAM OF THE WEEK

TOP TEAM

BROCK- went 5-1 for the week beating #20 Stephenville (4A) Vernon (4A) Snyder (4A) Graham (4A) and Holliday (3A). The only loss was 2-1 to Iowa Park (4A)

RUNNER UP

CENTRAL HEIGHTS- went 5-0 for the week and won the Kilgore Oil Belt tournament beating #12 Harmony, #21 Gladewater Sabine and 4-3 win over #19 New Diana in the championship game

HONORABLE MENTION

GRANDVIEW went 5-0-1 for the week beating Glen Rose, Lampasas (both 4A), Abilene Wylie (5A). Blooming Grove (3A) and equaling # 15 Godley (4A) with a 2-2 tie

BOYD went 4-0-1 on the week beating Lampasas (4A) Decatur (4a) Krum (4A) and playing #20 Stephenville (4A) to a 0-0 tie

SHALLOWATER went 4-0-1 for the week beating Perryton (4A) Dumas (4A) Pecos (4A) and River Road (3A). In those games they out hit opponents 36-9 outscoring them 42-2. They tied Midland Christian 8-8.

BOLING went 4-0 for the week beating C.E King (6A) Baytown (5A) and Wharton (4A) and Palacios (3A)

2A Game Grade Team of the Week (Mar 7)

2A Game Grade Team of the Week

Anson:  The Tigers won 5 games this week including 4 in tournament play.  They defeated Peaster (5-2), Clyde (5-1), Comanche (8-3), Merkel (6-5) and Early (6-5).

Runner Up:
Kenedy: The Lions improved to 7-0 on the season after winning 3 games this past weekend in tournament play.. They defeated George West (13-2), Poth (4-2), and San Antonio St Anthony (11-1).

Honorable Mention:
Windthorst:  The Trojans begin the season at 3-1 after a good tournament start.  They defeated Stamford (12-3), lost to 3A Brady (6-7), defeated 3A Grape Creek (16-3) and Coleman (12-2).

1A Game Grade Team of the Week

Fayetteville:  The Lions went 3-0-1 in tournament play this weekend.  The defeated #3 Hubbard (16-1), Runge (13-1) and Benavides (12-0).  They tied #7 Abbott 9-9 in the first game of the tournament.

Runner Up:
D’Hanis:  The Cowboys went 5-0 on the week with two wins over Crystal City (13-7, 6-1), Cotulla (13-5), Carrizo Springs (13-7) and La Pryor (12-0).  The Cowboys were 4-0 in tournament action.

Honorable Mention:
Miller Grove:  The Hornets went 4-0 in the Sulphur Bluff tournament with wins over Sulphur Bluff (5-3), Union Hill (7-0), Harts Bluff (14-0) and Avery (19-2)

Concordia Lutheran Crusaders –
 The #1 (Large School) Warriors won the Pete Runnels Shootout against 4A and 5A competition going 5-0, outscoring opponents 31-13.

Runner Up
Kinkaid Falcons – The #10 (Large School) Falcons went 5-0 in the Lamar Consolidated Tournament against 5A and 6A competition, outscoring opponents 45-20.

Honorable Mention
Shiner St. Paul Cardinals – The Cardinals went 4-0, outscoring opponents 71-6.

Flower Mound Marcus – Went 5-0 in the Tyde Classic. The pitching staff gave up only 3 runs in 5 games including 3 shutouts. They outscored their opponents 42-3.

Katy Tompkins – Went 5-0 in Montgomery/Brenham Tournament to remain undefeated on the season. Outscored opponents 41-9.

Honorable Mention 6A GameGrade Team of the Week
Brazoswood – Went 4-0 in their own tournament including a no-hitter and a walk-off win.

5A GameGrade Team of the Week (Mar 7)

5A Game Grade Team of the Week
Georgetown – The Eagles are off to a hot 6-0 start to the season after winning their week 2 tourney.  This included a win over 6A preseason number seven Smithson Valley.

Runner Up
Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial –Veterans Memorial won an impressive 7 games last week.  Included was a 4-2 victory over Burleson Centennial to capture the Mira’s championship.

Honorable Mention
Canyon Randall – After starting the season 0-5, Randall has reeled off 5 straight wins to get back to .500 on the season.

Barbers Hill – The defending state champs are looking excellent early on, rolling to a 40-3 scoring advantage in week 2.

Highland Park – The Scots went 5-0 and outscored opponents, 31-7.
