GameGrade 6A Team of the Week (Mar 21)

Game Grade 6A Team of the Week
PSJA Bears – Went 3-0 in district this past week with two comeback wins including a bases loaded triple walk off victory. Also had a 2-hit shutout in win over PSJA North. PSJA have sole possession of 1st place in 31-6A with a 5-0 record.

Runner Up
Pearland Oilers – Beat previous #8 Strake Jesuit in two district games, 13-8, 4-1. Have won 13 of their last 15 games.

Honorable Mention
Rockwall Heath – Heath picked up two big district wins over ranked crosstown rival Rockwall including a 7-6 win in 9 innings.

5A GameGrade Team of the Week (Mar 21)

5A Game Grade Team of the Week
La Porte – The Bulldogs knocked off Friendswood – the number one team in 5A – 6-4.

Runner Up
Frisco Memorial – Memorial has rebounded nicely by picking up two important wins over #12 Frisco Lone Star.

Honorable Mention
Wylie East – The Raiders have catapulted themselves to the top of the 10-5A standings with wins over Denison and #2 Lovejoy.

Red Oak – Red Oak is in strong position out of 14-5A after picking up two wins over Cleburne.

Mount Pleasant – The Tigers knocked off Sulphur Springs and top 25 Hallsville.

4A Game Grade Team of the Week
China Spring – The Cougars easily racked up a 6-0 record this past week against solid competition.  China Spring had wins over Lufkin Hudson (6), Godley (15), two wins over Jasper and two wins over 3A (5) Grandview.

Runner Up
Robstown – The Cottonpickers were 3-0 this past week with wins over IWA (14-4), 3A #1 London (6-3) and 5A Gregory-Portland (3-1).

Honorable Mention
Carthage – The Bulldogs are starting to impress with victories over 3A #10 Central Heights and 3A #20 Diboll.

Pittsburg – The Pirates are off to a nice 2-0 start in 15-4A play after taking down #8 Liberty-Eylau and Paris North Lamar.

Boerne – The Greyhounds are now up to 17 wins on the year after knocking off private school #4 Central Catholic, 5-3.

DIAMOND PRO/THSB 3A TEAM OF THE WEEK March 21

TOP TEAM
WHITE OAK-The Roughnecks, 12-4 (3-0) went 2-0 for the week with wins over district rivals New Diana #22 and Hughes Springs #40.

RUNNER UP
JIM NED– The Indians, 11-1 (3-0) went 2-0 for the week with wins over district rival Wall #15 and San Angelo TLC Academy.

HONORABLE MENTION
BLANCO– The Panthers, 11-0-1 (0-0) went 1-0 for the week with a win over Cameron Yoe #7
LORENA-The Leopards, 11-2 (3-0) went 3-0 for the week with 2 wins over district rival Troy and 4A Carrollton Ranchview
BISHOP– The Badgers, 9-5 (3-0) went 2-0 for the week with wins over district rivals Santa Gertrudis #29 and Falfurrias

2A Game Grade Team of the Week

Frankston – The Indians went 3-0 on the week scoring 52 runs.  They had a team batting average of .447 with 8 extra base hits.  The pitching staff only allowed 3 era runs with 1.24 team ERA and 26 strikeouts.  They had 2 district wins over Malakoff Cross Roads (23-2 and 14-2) and a win over Alba Golden (15-3).

Runner Up:
Premont –  The Cowboys went 3-0 on the week including a district win over Aqua Dulce (23-11).  They defeat San Diego (15-10) and Corpus Christi West Oso (18-2) in other action.

Honorable Mention:
Kenedy picks up two important district wins. They defeated Refugio (6-3) and Woodsboro (8-6).  Kenedy has not defeated Refugio since 2014.  The Lions have started the season at 10-0.
