Beckville v Stamford

Seed 1 vs Seed 4…Region 3 v Region 1. Game 1 of 3. The math doesn’t matter. Two good teams would lead off the State Tournament. Stamford as the vistors as Beckville would assume the home team honors. Appearances were that the 1st three innings were uneventful, unless you like to see good pitching and good defense and that’s what they brought us. Weak ground balls, 9 strikeouts and a host of popups and this was a pitcher’s duel. Beckville would capitalize in the bottom of 4 scoring 4; 3 of those on a 3 RBI shot to clear the bases by John Mike Bounds. The pitcher’s duel would continue through the fifth but Beckville would explode in the 6th and score 5 more to being the score to 9-0. Ethan Harris would continue his dominance of Stamford hitters in the 7th and end the game in style with a game ending double play.
