Local Athletes Recognized by EXOS as Top Baseball Players in Texas & Oklahoma Showcase their Athletic and Baseball Talents within Instructional Showcase

By Chris Dubek – EXOS VP of Amateur Sports

On September 23rd and 24th, a select high school baseball roster with over 85% All-State and All-District talent from Texas and Oklahoma experienced a unique position-specific performance instructional showcase in front of various MLB Scouts and NCAA Coaches. The EXOS Baseball Academy powered by Blast Motion, the official bat sensor technology of MLB, rewarded all athletes, coaches and their families with two days of cognitive and physical human performance training within their state-of-the-art facility in Frisco, TX with 5 tool baseball instruction led by Baseball Nation within a showcase setting at McKinney Boyd High School. Guided by their 4 Pillars of Mindset, Nutrition, Movement and Recovery, EXOS the global leader in sports performance, utilized systems that have supported World Series Champions, All-Stars, MVP’s, Hall of Famers, Draft Picks, All-Americans, USA Baseball athletes and numerous MLB organizations.

Day one was about deflecting trend and teaching all participants that “Every Day is Game Day.” The select roster went through EXOS Performance Quotient testing, which is a revolutionary performance signature that describes an athlete’s current performance qualities. Testing involved a multidimensional approach to human performance with high relevance and transferability to their sport. Within this PQ testing session, the baseball athletes displayed their athletic talents on all levels. Mathew De La Cruz, the 2017 All-District Shortstop from Edinburg Vela HS and Class of 2018, was ranked the #1 overall athlete within this elite group of talent. De La Cruz produced a non-counter movement jump of 35’ inches and counter movement jump of 35’ inches as well, while finishing Top 3 in his 60-yard dash with a 6.73 second run. Lastly, De La Cruz had the top broad hop left and right leg jumps with 97’ and 92’ inches; comparable to an Olympic athlete’s explosion. A dominating performance from a legit D1 baseball prospect. Spencer Wionzek (2017 2nd Team All-District 25-6A Infielder from Lake Travis HS) and Kaden Marshall (2nd Team All-District RF from Deer Creek HS), finished as Top 3 overall athletes as well. Post testing, athletes experienced EXOS curriculum and methodology within various performance sessions that exposed them to enhanced ways to train with a greater level of confidence, ultimately allowing them to implement within their own off-season training regiments back at home. The day concluded with an EXOS Nutrition 101 tailored towards fueling for success as a summer/fall ball travel athlete at home and on the road.
